My name is Patrick Jernigan. I'm a personal trainer specializing in Russian Kettlebells. I passed the RKCII in 2009. Kettlebell training is more effective when you work with an RKC. I teach "Hard Style" kettlebell lifting which helps you get the most out of each exercise while reinforcing positive body mechanics. To learn more about the RKC system and hardstyle training, check out www.dragondoor.com. I am a Blue Belt at the Ralph Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Academy in San Francisco where I train for MMA. I train with pro fighters and I know how to give you the kind of conditioning they have. I am ready to show you how to get in shape with Russian Kettlebells.

What's a Kettlebell? Sort of like a cannonball with a handle. Basic exercises are swings, snatches, cleans, presses, squats, and the Turkish Get-up. You can see these exercises here.

Why use Kettlebells? They offer superior cardio conditioning, improve your body composition, increase strength, and strengthen your tendons and ligaments. Who uses Kettlebells? Top Level MMA fighters like Fedor Emelianenko, Dan Henderson, Gabriel Gonzaga, and Frank Shamrock. Where can you train with Kettlebells? I will go to your house with my Kettlebells if you want, and if the weather's nice, you can meet me at a nearby park. If the weather's bad, I can train you at the Synergy Fitness Studio at 3556 Sacramento St. I'm also having workshops on a monthly basis at various locations, check my blog for updates.

This is a photo me working with rising MMA star Joey Armstrong. You don't have to be a fighter to use Kettlebells though, most of my clients are regular folks who just want to be in the best shape of their lives!  You can read their reviews here. I tailor workouts to suit the needs of my clients.  I've got kettlebells ranging in size from 8 kg (18 lbs.) to 36 kg (80 lbs) so if you're just getting started with your training or if you've been lifting weights for years, I can help you. If you want more than kettlebells, I also offer circuit style training with battling ropes, medicine balls, and more.
